Job Description


The People Analytics Advanced Analytics Director is accountable for the science and analysis of People Analytics. They will lead complex scientific analysis supporting Allstate’s talent strategy to enable leaders to make better talent decisions. The leader will oversee multiple projects concurrently within the People Analytics space, ranging from sprints to long-term analytical projects.

Key Responsibilities


  • Acts as a thought leader, innovator and advisor within People Analytics, offering expertise on complex issues that contribute to Allstate’s talent and business strategies
  • Delivers complex analytical solutions, translating business requests into analytical work and meeting business needs through the application of scientific rigor and deep subject matter expertise
  • Leads an experienced team of advanced analysts and I/O psychologists responsible for delivering transformative solutions
  • Leverages internal and external data and the power of advanced analytics; focus areas may include skill demand/supply, employee engagement, and productivity improvements using tools such as organizational network analysis, text categorization, prototype evaluation, sentiment analysis, cognitive task analysis, sensors and wearables
  • Enables a data-driven culture of analytics across HR, working with internal and external partners on an approach that compliments Allstate’s culture of analytics

  • Uses deep professional knowledge and acumen to advise senior stakeholders and HR partners, communicating complex concepts effectively across a wide range of audiences
  • Drives collaboration within the People Analytics team to ensure alignment and successful execution
  • Creates a high-performance work environment, leading and influencing the work within their team/direct reports and across People Analytics
  • Ensures solutions can be scaled to the enterprise level when needed and works across teams to create solutions that are predictive and scalable
  • Delivers playbooks to leaders and HR business partners that translate solutions into achievable actions

Job Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Undergraduate degree in Business, Finance, (or related field) with an MBA or PhD in Psychology, Analytics, Math, or Statistics strongly preferred
  • 12+ years of related experience in HR, finance, analytics, data or computer science, technology or related disciplines
  • Experience leading analytics teams across a range of disciplines, from advanced analytics to psychology, strongly preferred

Functional Skills

  • Deep expertise in math, statistical analysis, behavioural science, qualitative analysis, modelling and planning analysis, scenario planning, research design and hypothesis testing
  • Strong ability in leading teams and cross functional projects across a range of disciplines
  • Deep knowledge of the impact of science on human behaviour, individual, team and organizational performance
  • Strong ability to analyse and interpret complex concepts specific to people analytics
  • Strong ability to provide written and oral interpretation of highly specialized terms and data, and the ability to present and communicate that data to others with different levels of expertise
  • Ability to train, develop, motivate, and teach junior team members
  • Ability to influence in the area of analytics, digital technology, product management or human resources
  • Proven communication and influence skills taking a variety of audiences at all levels of the organization into consideration
