Assurant has an exciting opportunity within our Investment Accounting team!

The Senior Investment Operations Analyst performs complex operational duties to provide accurate and timely investment financial data on investment portfolios to enable senior and business unit management to make appropriate business decisions and achieve departmental goals. This role includes engagement with foreign offices and responsibility to mitigate financial risk through accuracy and completeness.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparation, completion and reconciliation of foreign office trade detail, income and cash. Requires significant analytics and research with consideration to language and presentation differences
  • Responsible for the research, maintenance, and review of the security master files (SMF) within PAM for Securities. Ensure the SMF is accurately reporting investment activity in compliance with GAAP and Statutory accounting principles
  • Preparation, completion and reconciliation of transfers of securities between portfolios
  • Initiate and implement process improvements. Develop and maintain process documentation
  • Perform operation services necessary to support Assurant Asset Management, Investment Accounting, and portfolio custodial accounts. Identifying, analyzing, and resolving investment security issues and complex corporate actions. Requires significant investment experience to research investment types, attributes and accounting impacts within PAM for Investments with consideration to reporting and interface impacts
  • Preparation, completion and reconciliation of mortgage trade detail, income and cash within PAM for Mortgages
  • Process cash match activities in PAM for Securities. Perform the research of un-matched cash
  • Responsible for gathering, researching, and maintaining all SVO required data and filings. Ensure that all filings and information are in compliance with the NAIC Purposes and Procedures Manual of the NAIC Securities Valuation Office
  • Responsibility for closing system at period end after all verification's are complete

Required skills/experience:

  • Bachelors Degree with Finance or Economics emphasis or equivalent work experience
  • 5-8 years of investment operations, portfolio analysis or equivalent experience
  • Strong accounting and investment securities knowledge
  • Data extraction and analysis experience
  • Strong technology skills to enhance efficiencies
  • Demonstrated strong analytical and research skills
  • Demonstrated oral and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Position will be remote

Preferred skills/experience:

  • Advanced knowledge of excel
  • PAM for Investments experience
  • Statutory accounting experience
  • Programming experience
  • Bilingual English/Spanish speaker highly desired
