FP&A Analyst

About the Role

The FP&A Associate is an immediate opening for an insurance organization in New York City. Your primary role is to analyze the current financial situation of the business. You are responsible for building and maintaining the operating model and monthly forecasts as well as gather/compile/review data that will help senior leaders make informed business decisions.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Partner with leadership team to drive business performance and optimize resource allocation
• Collaborate with budget owners to develop the annual financial plan, track spend, and updating forecasts based on actual results and business needs
• Build and maintain our operating model and cash forecasting
• Establish KPI dashboard to understand how our company is performing against key objectives and financial goals
• Investigating financial variances, trends, and drivers to influence business strategy
• Work closely with the accounting team to ensure accurate financial reporting
• Prepare regular and ad hoc reporting and analysis as needed to help drive business results
• Develop and implement new processes and procedures for enhanced reporting of key business drivers

Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
• Minimum one (1) year of relevant experience
• Ability to summarize complex analysis into key points
• A successful candidate should demonstrate perceptive analytical abilities, strong communication, interpersonal and team-building skills
• Must be very proficient with Microsoft Excel
• Strong knowledge of GAAP is a plus
• Self-starter, results-oriented and problem-solving qualities are desired; willingness to learn is essential
