As the Claims Field Manager, you will own the results and overall development of a mutli-geographic claims operation within a sub-function that spans several locations/zones for Medical Claims Field Operations in Global Retail Market U.S.. Medical Claims Field Operations take pride to create peace of mind for customers claims experience for No Fault and Accident & Health for all personal and small commercial customers. Assists with setting goals for the operations and driving critical objectives to completion. Creates a culture of customer service excellence across the operations where all are committed to providing a differentiated claims customer experience


Responsibilities:

  • Oversees the development and performance of a multi-geographic claims operation within a sub-function. Aligns team capabilities with operational goals to support optimal performance and removes barriers to success

  • Creates and implements a culture that inspires claims customer service excellence by applying voice of the customer principles to build empathy and passion for the customer experience across the operations. Focuses on continuously improving the way in which the customer interacts with the business

  • Assists with the setting of sub-functional goals and operating principles and aligns goals to functional mission and vision. Displays an understanding of industry best practices and maintains an awareness of emerging trends to monitor the company`s compliance with state and federal legislation

  • Creates a vision and talent strategy to develop staff and create talent pools to ensure availability of future talent. Engages and attracts exceptional claims talent and holds others accountable for attracting and developing talent

  • Evaluates operational practices and establishes new practices/processes that enhance organizational effectiveness, complying with the regulatory environment. Maintains a presence in claims offices across several geographic areas, travelling as necessary. Makes sound recommendations to sub-function and/or functional leadership, ensuring appropriate resource allocation (e.g. budget, talent, assets, etc.)

  • Monitors the claims reserve practices to ensure reserves are accurate. Reviews and approves, within assigned authority limits, claim expenses and settlements that exceed the claims employee`s authority level

  • Develop the operations talent pool

  • Develop and implement plans that improve operational effectiveness

  • Develop and champion innovative solutions to complex problems

  • Sponsor/promote change initiatives

  • Collaborate with senior leaders to create business plans that align to organizational strategies

Preferred locations: Lake Mary FL, Mitchel Field, NY, Marlton NJ and Boston MA

Qualifications:

  • Advanced knowledge of commercial property/casualty insurance, claims handling, insurance legal & regulatory environment, claims processes, applications/systems and procedures, medical terminology, and finance

  • Bachelor`s degree and 5-10 years of claims field experiences in leadership roles required and No Fault claims field experiences in leadership role preferred.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage a large, multi-location claims organization with mix of remote and in-office workforce

  • Track record to build continuous improvement culture, process and management practices to improve operational excellence

  • Demonstrated leadership initiatives to build diverse and inclusive culture and workforce for the future

  • Demonstrated leadership initiatives to embrace digital and advanced-analytics innovations to lead business transformation

  • Detail oriented, have a track record of reasonable risk taking, quality mindset and ability to collaborate effectively.

  • Ability to travel up to 50%
