HR Generalist


Position Overview

The Human Resources Generalist position provides technical support to managers and employees in the areas of payroll, benefits administration, leave administration, employee onboarding, training and development and workers compensation. This is an hourly role, with a pay range of $21/hr to $28/hr.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepare data for submission to the centralized payroll team, communicate with vendors to solve problems, create reports and review funding to benefit vendors
  • Administer company benefits including claims resolution, change reporting, life events, 1095-C data collection and communicating benefit information to employees
  • Lead the onboarding and new hire orientation process for new employees
  • Manage the leave administration program
  • Maintain employee files, both personnel and benefit files
  • Report and manage the workers comp claim process
  • Conduct audits of various payroll, benefits or other HR programs
  • Participate in the development and rollout of training solutions
  • Recommend continual improvements to enhance department efficiency
  • Maintain compliance with federal and state regulations
  • Participate in employee recognition and wellness programs
  • Other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Required:

  • Bachelors degree in human resources, business administration or related field and/or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 3+ years of progressive human resources experience
  • Firm understanding of federal employment laws (Title VII, FLSA, FMLA, ADA, etc.)
  • Ability to quickly build trusted partnerships and gain credibility with managers, employees and peers
  • Excellent time management, organizational and multi-tasking skills with high attention to detail
  • Ability to effectively communicate, both written and verbally, to internal and external parties
  • Ability to be trusted with highly confidential and sensitive information
  • Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point

Preferred:

  • PHR or SPHR designation
  • Licensed Predictive Index Analyst
  • Experience with Workday
  • Experience with UltiPro

Working Environment

  • Work is performed indoors in a climate controlled office environment
  • General technology as it relates to office administration
  • Regular business hours with additional hours required during certain periods
  • Occasional travel between offices
