Pricing Analyst I - College Senior

We are looking for a recent college grad for this unique opportunity to shape our teams processes and analytics for years to come. Selected candidate will apply actuarial techniques and work closely with the Pricing Team, Product Managers, R&D, and our Catastrophe Modeling Team to help determine, recommend and implement appropriate changes to state-by-state rate level, product design, and rating factor relativities.


  • Learns company systems, databases, and applications as well as Progressive's business, policies, practices and regulations.
  • With guidance from others, key tasks include producing the state-by-state rate level indication, making recommendations and implementing changes in state rate revisions, and continuous learning of our property insurance products and how we price.
  • Extracts information from databases, manipulates spreadsheets.
  • Communicates results to Product Managers and others.
  • Participates in limited ad hoc analysis


  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative study with an anticipated graduation date of December 2020 or May 2021.


  • Familiarity with business processes and system knowledge.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Must be able to learn on own in addition to formal training in order to contribute rapidly to the team.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of mathematics, statistics, probability and/or principles of finance
  • Ability to learn SAS and/or SQL programming.
  • Demonstrates skills in Excel including the ability to create, manipulate and formulate spreadsheets.
  • Understanding of database concepts.
  • Demonstrates basic MS Office skills.
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
