Allstate Insurance Company has an exceptional career opportunity for a Small Loss Property Adjuster in Sacramento, CA!
Our customers need us the most when they have damage due to fire, wind, water, or after a catastrophe strikes! As an Allstate Large Loss Contents Property Field Adjuster, you will play a vital role to ensure we deliver on our promise. This job is responsible for investigating, negotiating and settling basic claims involving the contents of a homeowner loss such as fire, and water.The individual handles claims that typically require alternative housing during the restoration of the property.The individual travels to the loss site to conduct a thorough analysis. You will evaluate damages, determine loss coverage and authorize payments. The individual is capable of working independently, prioritizing the individual's own responsibilities, and managing workload. You will be expected to deliver compassionate service that is fast, fair, and easy, to ensure customer retention.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Investigate, evaluate, and negotiate personal property claims in order to reach a fair and equitable settlement.
- Act as a customer advocate by establishing and maintaining a strong personal rapport with our customers.
- Provide support to local Allstate offices to expedite the claims process.
- Follow established procedures to ensure a positive customer experience and satisfy defined business objectives.
- Achieve cost management objectives through expert execution and compliance processes.
- Organizes, reconciles and reviews mitigation bills
- Completes and reviews contents inventory, contents pricing, and analysis; Conducts fast track estimating
- Inspects and estimates contents damage in a dwelling
Please note that this highly demanding field service position will require you to travel within the territory as much as 75% of your working time, with occasional overnight travel. As a result you must be willing to work some weekend and extended hours if necessary. In addition, you must be able work in hot or cold weather conditions.
If offered the role, you may go to Wheeling, IL for a two-week training session in our state of the art facility within your first two months at Allstate. You will work with other Allstate employees to learn standard processes, answer any questions you have, and make career connections.

As a condition of your employment, you may be expected to comply with the state specific licensing process and requirements to perform work as a Large Loss Property Adjuster. Failure to complete these requirements within the time frame designated by the hiring department may result in the termination of your employment with Allstate Insurance Company.
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of property claims handling experience strongly preferred
- Proven record of outstanding customer service delivery
- Prior experience using Xactimate is highly desired
- Merchandising experience is also a plus
- Excellent listening and interpersonal skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proven ability to work independently with little or no supervision
- Proven record for maintaining the highest level of personal and professional integrity
- Ability to interact effectively with internal or external customers and act with empathy
- Apply knowledge of insurance policy, coverage, and regulation
- Apply knowledge of claim processes, policies, procedures, claim systems, coverage, liability, damage estimating, and/or settlement, and adherence to applicable legal compliance standards
