In Hosting Services – End User Experience, our users are the employees of Liberty Mutual and we strive to deliver best-in-class software products that simplify their daily jobs and maximize their productivity. This position will be responsible for working with employee consumer persona representatives (e.g. contact center, road warrior, work at home, IT developer, etc.) architects, engineers, and product owners to help design and build the end user devices, platforms, and next generation experiences that will serve as the foundational productivity platform for 50K+ global employees.


About the job:

As a Senior Full Stack Software Developer, you will work with your product team to develop cloud based user-centric software products from idea to production. This is a fast-paced environment providing rapid delivery for our business partners.   • Collaborate with a team of distributed staff to deliver complex software solutions.
  • Drive full cycle end to end development from design through implementation.
  • In an Agile environment, work with business team members, product owners, and other software engineers to review and qualify business requirements, functional specifications, use-cases, and test plans.
  • Design, prototype and author code for software components and applications and optimize them for system performance.
  • Work along with development team members with regards to sprint planning, release planning, and work prioritization across the portfolio.
  • Partner with application architects as well as other application teams to implement solutions and ensure effective integration with downstream systems.
  • Demonstrate strong technical architecture and leadership skills with ability to handle multiple activities in a dynamic and energizing environment.
  • Identify and recommend appropriate continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Mentor less experienced software engineers.

Desired Skills:

  • Bachelor's Degree in technical discipline preferably computer science or software development.
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in Full Stack Development.
  • Extensive knowledge of IT concepts, strategies, methodologies, architectures and technical standards.
  • Experience developing serverless/micro-service-based applications hosted in cloud based PaaS offerings (AWS Lambda, Azure Functions, Azure App Services) with a preference for Azure.
  • Experience developing responsive web applications using JavaScript, Java, HTML5, CSS3.
  • Familiar with client-side JavaScript frameworks (preferably React/Redux).
  • Familiar with frameworks such as .NET, Entity Framework, Spring etc.
  • Familiar with CI/CD process and tools, testing frameworks and practices (examples GitHub, Jenkins/Bamboo, Mocha/Karma, Cucumber, etc).
  • Experience with deployment automation of serverless/micro-service applications hosted in cloud based PaaS offerings (AWS Lambda, Azure Functions, Azure App Services) using PowerShell or cli. Preference for Azure with PowerShell.
  • Able to integrate with and managing APIs exposing microservices (REST) including development and support of .NET/JavaScript services.
  • Familiarity with event-based System of Engagement architectures.
  • Familiar with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Lean Startup, XP) and cross-functional teams (Product Owners, Scrum Masters, Developers, Designers, Business Analysts) as well as a pair-programming mindset.
  • Ideally familiar with Design Thinking, Behavior and Test-Driven Development.
  • Familiarity with test-and-learn approaches using web and customer analytics data, understanding how these drive hypotheses-based development.
