Director of Financial Planning and Analysis – Houston, Texas

Recognized Property and Casualty Insurance company is seeking a Director of Financial Planning and Analysis for their Accounting / Finance operations in Houston . Candidates will be responsible for managing a group involved with the planning, budgeting, forecasting, allocations & financial analysis of all business activities. You will interface with multiple levels of leadership including senior management. Excellent communication and leadership skills will be necessary for the successful candidate.

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum of 8 years' experience in the accounting / finance area within a Property and Casualty Insurance company
• Minimum of 3 years' experience in a financial management role
• Knowledge and experience in GAAP and STAT reporting in all areas including reinsurance
• Provide strategic recommendations to senior management based on financial analysis and projections, cost identification and allocation, and revenue/expense analysis.
• Responsible for appropriate Finance activities in the company' strategic planning and budget processes, including ensuring that results are monitored, analyzed and adjusted, as necessary.
• Ensure that Finance activities are in accordance with established legal, regulatory, and company procedures.
• Provide strategic financial leadership and support on the evaluation of potential new business activities and/or elimination of business activities and/or other issues affecting the business.
• Excellent presentation, communication and leadership skills
• Product knowledge in all lines of P&C insurance including workers' compensation
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) required.
• Bachelors Degree in accounting
• Masters Degree in Business or Accounting a plus
• CPCU or CIC insurance designations are a plus
