Advance your career at Liberty Mutual - A Fortune 100 Company!

In USCM Marketing Analytics, we use data driven solutions to support Liberty Mutual's growth goals and make business decisions. The Marketing Optimization team focuses on customer segmentation to increase new business policies and bring value to our customers.

In this role, you will collaborate closely with a team of data scientists, analysts and marketing tactic teams. You will work with large internal and external data to build both traditional and machine learning models to target prospective and existing customers for various marketing tactics. You will build Media Mix models to quantify the effectiveness and contribution of marketing tactics. You will influence the business decision of where to spend our marketing dollars and through which marketing channels to grow our business. You will have the opportunity to evaluate and bring in third party vendor data and help our marketing tactic teams to design and evaluate their marketing campaigns.

We are looking for the type of person who aligns their analytic and modeling work to business needs. We value passionate, down to earth people who keep an eye on the business application and who enjoy fine-tuning models to deliver solutions for marketing efforts.

Responsibilities:

  • Answer the questions of "How effective are our marketing tactics?" and "Where should we spend our marketing dollars?" through Media Mix models; communicate our findings to tactic teams and align to business insights.

  • Build highly predictive models for our LM.com campaign, which follows up with customers who quoted online but didn't bind. Are there additional data to improve our model performance? How to adapt model to changing pricing outlook? Would machine learning models bring additional predictive powers? How to interpret machine learning models for our business stakeholders? And how to implement the real time model and optimize the pipeline for future model refresh and development?

  • Collaborate closely with Direct Mail and Email Teams to answer the questions of Whom, out of the entire US population, to target our advertisement at? What contents/mesage to show them? and How to most effectively share insights of marketing segmentation across various tactics?

  • Collect and prepare internal and external data and perform exploratory data analysis to measure the performance, effect and value of models and marketing campaigns.

  • Perform other ad-hoc analysis to provide marketing related solutions.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Statistics, Economics, Computer Science or any quantitative discipline and 5 years of professional experience of applying quantitative analysis to solving real-world business problems. Or
  • PhD degree in Statistics, Economics, Computer Science or any quantitative discipline and 2 years of professional experience of applying quantitative analysis to solving real-world business problems.

  • Experience in predictive analytics including real-world experience in model valuation, testing and deployment.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in R, Python or other statistical analysis tools required.

  • Adept at framing business questions and practices in analytic terms and translating business requirements into corresponding datasets, analyses, models, reports and presentations to both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Ability to perform high-level wotk both independently and collaboratively.
