Job Description
The Commercial Agency Support Team is responsible for responding to basic and complex inbound telephone/email/chat/fax inquiries, system navigation support, product and market direction. The team may act as an intermediary between the agent and the insurance company. The team markets risk to carrier partners on behalf of agents using a combination of automation and direct carrier placement. At different levels, sales skills and knowledge of risks and the insurance market are used to find and arrange coverage. The team acts in the interest of the agents and offers products from more than one insurer to provide the agents the best quotes available to them.
Key Responsibilities
• The Commercial Agency Support Associate provides ongoing day-to-day assistance to agents using various systems, products and procedures
• The representative is responsible to the agent for providing exceptional service, documentation and follow up on existing business
• This role requires the level 1 employee to be trained on a limited scope of products and procedures to answer basic to complex agent inquiries
• Applies broad and established knowledge of job to assist callers
• Provide availability SME for multiple lines & carriers, review risk for eligibility and convey information in a concise and professional manner
• May review policies, process binder and upload with carrier for binder completing
• Works under direction and follows protocols
• Meets daily performance standards
• Responsible for providing exceptional day-to-day routine consultation, service and support to agents/peers via phone, email or chat
Training Hours: 9:30 AM- 6 PM (Spring hours: 8:30am-5pm)
Job Qualifications
Education and Experience
• 1 year of experience in customer service, insurance, agency or brokerage required
• College degree preferred and/or equivalent experience
Functional Skills
• Demonstrate a broad level of under understanding of the insurance markets and the lines of business available at the carrier level
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Strong discipline to adhere to schedule
• Commitment to Customer Service Excellence is required
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Word and Excel
• Internet proficiency
The candidate(s) offered this position will be required to submit to a background investigation, which includes a drug screen.
