Job Description
**In addition to Charlotte, NC, we are open to candidates in the Dallas / Fort Worth, TX & Phoenix, AZ markets to work from our local offices in those locations. Strong qualified candidates in other US geographic markets will also be given consideration as potential home-based professionals.**
Allstate Information Security is looking to hire a Cybersecurity Exploit Developer to join an exciting team and fulfill a high-demand service. The individual will perform duties such as program analysis, binary reverse engineering, live software patching, and automated vulnerability identification. He/she will discover security vulnerabilities and weaknesses and provide remediation recommendations. The primary targets will include in-house developed web applications, infrastructure, mobile applications, or IoT devices. The team is looking for an experienced researcher with a willingness to share knowledge and work with the team to enhance the security posture of Allstate’s applications and systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform white and black box testing of in-house applications and systems with a variety of commercial and opensource tools
- Build code independently or collaboratively to develop prototypes that address challenging security problems
- Design evidence-based experiments that address stated research problems
- Stay up-to-date in current tools, techniques, and vulnerabilities
- Measure effectiveness of prototypes and provide reproducible results
- Create detailed plans for maturing technologies beyond their prototype
- Devise creative and custom exploits, solutions, and techniques to discover vulnerabilities and exploitability of the targets
- Knowledge-share with team on techniques to continuously improve the service offering
- Create detailed report of findings and recommendations after testing is complete and present to stakeholders
Job Qualifications
- 5+ years experience with exploit development
- Demonstrable knowledge and experience with Ida Pro, gdb, OllyDebug, Ghidra
- Experience testing/analyzing applications and network protocols
- Able to build, test, and maintain software using C/C++ and Python
- Understanding of common network protocols
- Working knowledge with various operating systems
- Ability to relay detailed technical concepts to a broad range of audiences via written reports
- Passion for continuous learning, growth, and tinkering
