Job Description
Allstate Insurance Company has an excellent opportunity for a SIU Personal Injury Protection Investigator in Farmington Hills, MI!
Allstate Insurance’s Special Investigation Unit is considered a leader in the industry. Special Investigative Unit (SIU) work is performed by a specialized unit that proactively utilizes analytical tools to handle the most complex or specialized claims possibly in litigation and works with specialized counsel and law enforcement to detect, investigate, and deter fraud. This position is both challenging and rewarding.
As an Allstate SIU Investigator, you will be responsible for:
- Investigating No Fault claims to detect or deter fraud in accordance with state guidelines and Allstate policies and procedures.
- Your work will be conducted both in an office and in the field investigating potentially fraudulent insurance claims.
- You will be responsible for investigating claims and damages that may result from First Party PIP claims.
- Your investigations include analysis of injuries, visiting loss locations, working with directly with counsel, perform background searches, take recorded statements, obtain evidence, interview witnesses, verify policy coverage and limits, review medical notes and bills, and conduct social media searches.
- The individual will review whether fraud can be substantiated.
- The individual also delivers compassionate service that is fast, fair, and easy, to ensure customer retention and a high level of customer experience.
- This work will require regular field work to loss sites and involved parties in the nearby market.
Occasional overnight travel can be expected for investigation of larger more complex losses.
Various computer technologies are used to document investigation plans and results within the claims application, as well as for searching internet resources and databases for information relevant to the investigation of the claim.
Excellent investigational and analytical skills are a key skill set for this position. Customer service and working as a team player with SIU employees and employees in other Allstate departments are also a requirement of this position.
Job Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years PIP adjusting experience
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- High school diploma or equivalency required
- Prior SIU or field investigation experience preferred
- Strong customer service skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong Organizational and computer skills
- Ability to be a self-starter and work independently
- Persistence with the ability to work through and solve problems
- Strong analytical skills required
- Bilingual candidates are strongly encouraged to apply

Pease note that this highly demanding field service position will require some travel. You must have a valid driver’s license, use of a working and insured vehicle and be willing to work a flexible schedule to accommodate customers’ needs.
