Tokio Marine HCC – Cyber & Professional Lines Group
Position Overview
Tokio Marine HCC is currently looking for a Claims Examiner to handle liability and reinsurance claims for our Cyber & Professional Lines Group. This position is fast paced, challenging and diverse with hands-on instruction. Reporting to the Claims Manager, our Claims Examiners are responsible for reviewing claims for coverage and determining whether the matter is covered under the applicable policy. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, analytical, customer-service oriented and have excellent written and oral communication skills.
Performance Objectives
- Obtain a solid understanding of Claims coverages, policies, and procedures within the first 90 days of employment.
- Achieve thoroughness and accuracy when accomplishing tasks, specifically relating to file handling and documentation.
- Superior written and verbal communication skills with both internal and external clients.
- Maintain a positive and professional demeanor with insureds while providing top notch customer service.
- Prioritize and complete a high number of tasks, while maintaining strict deadlines.
Experience & Education
- Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent education and/or experience preferred
- 1-year general office experience preferred
- Insurance or Claims experience may be helpful, but not required
- Possess the ability to apply basic knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Able to detect discrepancies and variances in wording, grammar, spelling, and numbers.
- Outstanding analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Proficiency and experience using Microsoft Office package (Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word)
