About the role:

The Office of Data Science is looking for a Project Manager to help support our Data Science Professional Resource Group (DSPRG) on key strategic initiatives that will grow and develop the Data Scientist community at Liberty Mutual.

This role will be responsible for managing several key projects for the Data Science Professional Resource Group (which is led by the DSPRG Steering Committee) in the areas of talent management and development, communications, and employee engagement.

Responsibilities:

• Obtain an ongoing understanding of the data science community in terms of its responsibilities, size, and how it relates to other functions (job families) in the company.

• Defines the business case with input from stakeholders. Identifies and gains agreement on project objectives, scope, timing, and resources.

• Plans activities/tasks that will deliver the desired results and oversees day-to-day work and monitoring of progress towards goals.

• Conducts project meetings and prepares regular reports to communicate the status of projects to stakeholders within and beyond the project team.

• Directs stakeholders towards consensus points and typically gains buy-in of recommendations.

• Escalates and works to resolve issues that serve as roadblocks and/or place project objectives at risk.

• Identifies and provides visibility into trade-offs between options and influences recommended approach

Qualifications:

• Strong knowledge of project management principles and concepts.

• Strong communication across all mediums (verbal, written, technology/social platforms, etc.)

• Strong ability to manage all aspects of the project management life cycle.

• Strong business operations knowledge to include understanding the function`s value chain and market conditions strongly preferred.

• Competencies typically acquired through a Bachelor`s degree or equivalent experience. Advanced degree preferred.

• Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience to include project management work.
