Claims Coverage Counsel

About the Role
Industry leading Third Party Administrator in the professional management, administration, and handling of claims in the commercial general liability field seeks Coverage Counsel professional. In this newly created role, the Coverage Counsel will assure that the rights of the insurance carrier are protected with respect to the policy contract.

Remote is an option for this opportunity.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Review all files and make appropriate coverage comments in the file notes
• Notify Adjusters of any coverage issues and/or instructions to draft the appropriate coverage letter(s)
• Track coverage files
• Ensure all coding, limits, and deductibles/self-insured retentions are accurately recorded
• Liaison between company the underwriting company as it relates to coverage issues
• Conduct regular training seminars for internal staff as it relates to coverage

Skills & Experience

• 5+ years commercial property and casualty coverage counsel experience
• Juris Doctorate degree
• Candidates could be from a carrier or from a private legal practice

Compensation & Perks

• $80,000 to $100,000
• Can work remotely from residence
