Job Description
Allstate Internal Audit (Allstate IA) serves Allstate and its stakeholders by providing objective, independent assurance to the organization. Our mission is to help the organization meet its strategic, financial, operational and compliance objectives. Our internal audit teams apply their knowledge, insights and objectivity to help the organization mitigate risk by evaluating the design and effectiveness of controls embedded in strategy, governance, operations and risk management processes.
The Audit Director will serve as a member of the Allstate IA leadership team that is responsible for the development, delivery, aggregation and communication of the results of an Internal Audit Plan (approximately 100 engagements per year). This individual will also be accountable for a thoughtful and thorough assessment of risk for certain businesses and functions and will be accountable for maintaining effective relationships with the senior leadership teams of these areas.
Key Responsibilities
This position requires strong leadership. The leader will approach the role with an inquisitive bias and will require a strong problem-solving aptitude. Further, this individual must have the following personal and professional attributes, which are consistent with Allstate’s shared values.
- Responsible for the development and delivery of the audit plan
- Accountable for a thoughtful and thorough assessment of risks for the business areas
- Responsible for aggregation and effective communication of audit plan results
- Exhibit thought leadership on risks, internal controls and continuous improvement
- Lead and implement strategic initiatives
- Remain actively engaged in the audit profession, both internally and externally
- Demonstrate and foster a sense of urgency, strong commitment, and accountability while making sound decisions and achieving audit and strategic goals
- Manage multiple high-level audits with a focus on exceptional customer service and drive innovation to create an atmosphere that supports new ideas and initiative

Job Qualifications
- The successful candidate will have a minimum of 12+ years of demonstrated increasing levels of responsibility:
- Audit experience a plus (internal or external)
- Executive presence, poise and confidence
- Demonstrated experience in successfully building and managing relationships at the senior leadership level
- Strategic, big picture thinker who will also be expected to be credible at the detailed level
- Analytical and logical, yet creative, with the ability to lead independently
- Strong leadership skills and proven people management experience
- Very strong written and verbal communication skills
