The Global Retail Markets Product Specialty Economics team is looking for a highly motivated and analytical individual to assess the overall book profitability and growth of a PL Specialty line. The key responsibility of this role will be to develop country wide and state rate plans, develop CW and state internal indications and provide external actuarial support to Departments of Insurance for the filed Product initiatives. This includes new program introductions. In this role, you will effectively communicate and collaborate across all Global Retail Markets Economic teams to ensure Specialty lines demonstrate lead-line tools, processes and analytical approaches as appropriate.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee a Specialty line of business to ensure a path to profitability, including projecting trends, evaluating reserve opinions and assessing claims development data.
  • Develop CW and state internal indications, which bring together the impacts of trends, rate strategy and other product actions into a cohesive perspective online of business health.
  • Provide actuarial support for Specialty state filings for rate and other new initiatives.
  • Track state-level requirements for actuarial assumptions in filings and apply them appropriately as needed.
  • Communicate results and build tools to help key partners better understand the profitability of their line.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required in business, economics or other quantitative field. Commitment to Insurance designation is required.
  • 2-4 years progressively responsible experience.
  • Proven understanding of all casualty actuarial techniques, standards and assumptions.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate technical concepts to broad audiences.
  • Ability to establish and build effective relationships within and outside the organization.
