Questpro is partnered with an Insurance Company in Austin, TX who has an immediate need for a Workers Compensation Claims Adjuster. This is a contract position for a minimum of 4 months.

Must be licensed in Texas. Must have at least 2 years of indemnity adjusting experience.

Summary

Conducts Claims Investigations and administers benefits to injured employees and/or their beneficiaries in accordance with the Texas Worker’s Compensation Act, rules of the Divisions of Worker’s Compensation (DWC) and internal policies and procedures. Workers under close supervision and has reserving authority with level of experience.

Essential Job Functions:

Conducts claim investigations, with supervisor input as needed, including:

• Evaluating and determining whether coverage exists
• Investigating claims on an initial and/or on-going basis by interviewing the injured worker, the employer, medical providers and relevant witnesses
• Evaluating and determining whether an injury is compensable
• Determining whether a claim should be recommended for reassignment based on claim type
• Establishing the level of initial reserves for claims
• Assessing whether a third party may be liable for the injury, and referring the case on to the appropriate party
• Evaluating and recommending whether to dispute a claim or to dispute the extent of an injury and initiating the dispute resolution process with the DWC as appropriate;
