Allstate Insurance Company has an exceptional career opportunity for a Liability Claims Service Adjuster in Coconut Creek, FL!
The Adjusting Function is responsible for verifying policy coverage and limits. The Adjusting function investigates and evaluates damage and/or liability; estimates damages, losses, or total indemnity; sets and maintains reserves; and/or negotiates and settles claims. Third party liability and casualty claims involve coverage and liability investigation, negotiation, and settlement of policyholder and third-party liability, property damage, and bodily injury claims.
Job Description
Under general supervision, this job is responsible for investigations into minor single- and multi- car auto accidents to determine property and casualty liability. The individual maintains a good working relationship with policy holders while establishing credibility for the company through the quality of work and thoroughness of the investigations. The individual sets customer expectations, communicates timelines for investigation and explains applicable laws and coverages. The individual also takes recorded statements, resolves loss of use issues, makes payments to appropriate partie,s and negotiates and settles or refers bodily injury issues if settlement is not possible. The individual is gaining experience in delivering compassionate service that is fast, fair, and easy, to ensure customer retention. The individual is capable of working independently, prioritizing the individual's own responsibilities, and managing the individual's own workload. The individual is also gaining experience in meeting band level behaviors, production, quality and/or customer service goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Customer Service
- Makes and maintains a connection with the customer by understanding and meeting their needs; serves the customer with empathy; and follows up to ensure that customer needs have been met
- File Documentation and Reporting
- Summarizes documents and enters into claim system notes
- Documents a claim file with notes, evaluations and decision making process
- Coverage, Liability and Evaluation
- Determines applicable coverages in basic claims involving a single claimant and determines applicable coverage limits in basic claims involving multiple claimants
- Takes recorded statements from claimants, insureds, witnesses, etc. and prepares summaries
- Conducts investigations into minor single and multi-car accidents to obtain additional claims and coverage information and assist in determining liability
- Reviews investigation notes and determines claim value, coverage and liability for basic claims
- Negotiation and Settlement Guidance
- Negotiates and settles claims in accordance with business unit best practices
Job Qualifications
- You want to utilize your customer service skills to help restore peoples’ lives’
- You have a Bachelor’s degree and/or prior customer service experience in a professional environment
- You have a strong desire to make a difference through compassionate customer service
- You’re an empathic, upbeat and friendly self-starter who can work independently, as well as, on a team
- You’re excited about solving problems and coming up with creative solutions
- You feel comfortable working within the Microsoft Office Suite and would be excited to learn new technology
- You’re organized and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- You’re known for clear and professional communication – both written and verbal
- Being bilingual and/or having prior military experience is a plus
