This is a full-time Senior Systems Engineer position. The position is ideal for someone who has at least 10 years' experience working as a Systems Engineer with responsibilities across multiple areas dealing with a Converged Virtual Infrastructure and Core Data Center Networking. 

We are looking for a candidate who is well-versed and proficient in the engineering and management of the following technologies: ESXi 6.x infrastructure, Cisco UCS/HP blade and rack systems, Windows/Linux OS platform administration, Data Center core routing and switching (Cisco Nexus/Extreme) and cross platform scripting/automation skills (PowerShell, Perl, Chef/Puppet/Ansible).

 Must have strong knowledge and experience with problem analysis/diagnosis related to the Virtual Infrastructure and Core Data Center Networking. Must have knowledge of Hyper-Converged technologies (e.g. HyperFlex and Nutanix). Candidate should also have knowledge of Storage Area Networking (SAN), Block and File storage systems (EMC/NetApp/Brocade/MDS) as well as Load Balancing concepts and management (F5, HA Proxy). A strong understanding of DevOps/Agile concepts is required. Must plan, deploy, and manage IT systems: VMWare infrastructure, blade infrastructure (HP c7000 & Cisco UCS) - including working knowledge of HP Virtual Connect and Cisco UCS Manager/Cisco UCS Central, Cisco Data Center (LAN) technologies. Provide Tier-III level support to assist IT Teams on troubleshooting and escalated issues to resolution. 

Assure the performance and availability of the systems. Troubleshooting as needed. Improve systems and processes through automation and continuous improvement. Maintain monitoring equipment. Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations. Generate documentation for project overviews, process, and testing/validation. Communicate with customers via phone, email, and ticketing system. Work with vendors and resellers as needed. Perform other job-related duties as necessary. Participate in an on-call 24/7 rotation. 


Qualifications

8+ years experience with VMware - ESXi, vCenter, SRM, v6.x Experience is required. Must be VMware proficient. 5+ years' experience with HP/Cisco (or Dell) compute platform administration. Strong knowledge is preferred to the UCS infrastructure. 5+ years' experience with of Microsoft and Linux (RHEL) OS concepts and administration.

 Must have working knowledge of basic Linux OS administration. 4+ years' experience with Data Center networking (VLANS, trunking, L2/L3 routing/switching, segmentation). 4+ years' experience with PowerShell/Perl or equivalent scripting language. 2+ years' experience with Storage/SAN - iSCSI and/or Fiber Channel, NAS (SMB/NFS) concepts.

 Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment. Proven interpersonal skills working in a team environment, creating a motivation for high achievement. Must have excellent written and verbal communications skills to communicate effectively with peer teams and management. Must have strong knowledge to DevOps/Agile and its cultural philosophies, practices, and automation that increase an organization's ability to deliver applications and services. Some light exposure to Hyper-V, NSX, Veritas Volume Manager/LVM, general networking and security concepts.
