Job Description
Allstate Technology & Strategic Ventures (ATSV) Program Managers are accountable for successful technology solution/service delivery. As a Program Manager, you will be responsible for directing strategic, enterprise level initiatives and projects/program of the highest complexity and impact. Accountable for leading all aspects of the highest complexity program or project with the ability to provide project management on projects with the highest level of risk, organizational span, business complexity, team size, and interdependencies. Projects/Programs will be managed across multiple functional areas and often have fixed deadlines and are of strategic importance to the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently capable of determining approach to managing projects/programs understanding business strategic initiatives and objectives and how the program/project will deliver them using functional, business, and technical knowledge to deliver the best solution.
- Manage the Allstate Service Businesses (ASB’s) and Affiliates communication, be that one-point-of-contact
- Demonstrates mastery of best practices in program management, communication processes, and contributes to their improvement.
- Drives planning, execution and achievement of enterprise level projects/program success factors
- Be a trusted advisor by demonstrating thought leadership in problem solving, staff development and effective interaction with senior management and executive leaders.
Key Responsibilities (Cont'd)
- Lead complex / critical program execution impacting teams, departments and aspects of functional and business results managing project relationships
- Manage multiple project deliveries using waterfall, multi-method or agile delivery methods from initiation through to deploy and close per agreed schedule, budget, quality and scope.
- Assess and report project/program health in an objective manner, maintaining transparency and accurate status; communicate project status, risks and issues to be easily understood by the appropriate stakeholder audience
Job Qualifications
- Extensive project management experience in multiple technology environments and and/or consulting experience in technology solutions and at least 5 years recent experience at a senior project/program manager level
- Experience of waterfall and agile development methodologies as well as Scaled Agile (SAFe)
- Experience of delivering complex multi-shore, multi-method IT projects.
- Experience with dependency mapping and management for complex projects engaging multiple DCIOs or vendors.
- Relevant project management / delivery certifications e.g. PRINCE2, PMP, Scaled Agile SA/SP
- Experience using Jira, Confluence, Version 1, Microsoft (MS) Teams, MS Project
Desired Competencies
- Education: MBA
- PMP and/or Scaled Agile (SAFe) Certification
