Underwriting Strategy and Performance (USP), a division within the Global Risk Solutions (GRS) business unit, is seeking a motivated, inquisitive, and analytic individual interested in joining an entrepreneurial data transformation and analytics team. The team focus is on building a sustainable environment to optimize the data acquisition and transformation procedures of GRS policy and claims data to help its clients explore core business drivers to optimize the GRS direct portfolio and reinsurance positions.

Responsibilities:

• Under moderate supervision, execute the timely request, acquisition, cleansing and integration of data into the USP data-mart.
• Work with internal customers to accurately gather and interpret requirements and specifications that will fulfill reinsurance placements and underwriting strategy data needs.
• Create & document technical SQL, ETL- related activities such as data aggregation, data quality assessment and data cleansing that support the USP data-mart.
• Assess and document the structure and quality of the data sourced from the various GRS units, while identifying and working with team members to resolve issues encountered with the data.

Qualifications:

• Competencies typically acquired through a bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics or other scientific field of study plus 3-5 years of experience in a professional environment.
• Proficiency in accessing and manipulating structured datasets. Experience with MS Excel and familiarity with SQL and visualization programs such as MS Power BI is helpful.
• Displays intellectual curiosity, problem-solving skills and has a value driven perspective with regard to understanding business context and impact.
• Ability to balance expectations and maintain relationships among multiple teams and peers.
• Able to work in a collaborative, fast-paced, evolving environment that mirrors the pace of the business.
