This role includes close collaboration with Copywriters and Content Strategists, and is expected to create engaging conceptual designs across multiple channels. They will follow work from concept to execution, often working collaboratively between multiple offices/regions (Chicago, Charlotte, Dallas, Silicon Valley) and aligning with their COE and business partners.

Job Description

Team Summary: The Allstate Creative team serves the entire enterprise, including Allstate Insurance, Esurance, SquareTrade, InfoArmor, Arity and other innovation-oriented emerging businesses that are part of this growing portfolio. The Allstate Creative team includes several Areas of Responsibility, including: Design, Advertising, Content, User Experience Design, Technology, and Production Studio. These teams provide creative solutions across the enterprise to accelerate creativity, innovation and business growth.

The Associate Art Director is responsible for management and execution of the creative vision and delivering design aesthetics, experience design and brand storytelling across the enterprise. This requires the ability to apply business knowledge, data and consumer insights to creative solutions that deliver results. Art Directors are accountable for big ideas and innovative storytelling for all enterprise companies. Art Directors oversee all projects and programs related to design aesthetics in support of Integrated Marketing Services, bringing brand storytelling to technology, business strategy and digital innovation.

Key Responsibilities

  • May manage a team
  • Development of concepts and execution of designs to meet business needs
  • Build and manage portfolio of creative ideas and concepts
  • Deliver with strategic mindset
  • Develop teams with a deep understanding of design principles
  • Knowledge of Information Architecture (IA) and User Experience (UX) methods for responsive web and mobile app design
  • The ability to define and document great user-centered digital experiences
  • The ability to clearly and confidently present your work in front of both internal and external audiences
  • Ability to keep up with current trends in digital design, development and communication technologies
  • Experience with agile process
  • Expert knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign
  • Knowledge of Sketch, Adobe Muse, Adobe Edge or other new design and prototyping software tools is a plus
  • HTML, CSS and/or JavaScript skills not mandatory but a plus

  • Experience supervising junior and production designers
  • Strong attention to detail, a positive attitude and a collaborative personality

Job Qualifications

  • BFA/BA in Advertising, Graphic Design, Digital Media Design or related field (or significant equivalent experience)
  • Minimum 10 years of experience delivering integrate and digital projects. Experience in brand identity design, social content and video production is highly valued
  • Experience with portfolio management and ability to showcase several recent, live projects and omni-channel campaigns
