Job Description
The Data Structures team is driving innovation in the enterprise data modeling space, creating the data structures underlying our newly emerging product development platform, and leveraging cutting edge proprietary tooling to achieve large-scale adoption. The team is responsible for designing all intra-domain messages and publishing the designed structures in the enterprise metadata portal.
The Data Modeler, Delivery Manager is responsible for partnering with Product Owners and Product Managers while guiding engineers and analysts in multiple products within the Data Management suite, bringing technical delivery expertise to product team planning and execution. The Data Management product teams focus on connecting users to data, building out a data quality framework, and providing data discovery capabilities to enable compliance for personal Information.
Key Responsibilities (Engineering)
- Serve as the anchor of the team and provide technical leadership; guide the team in choosing the right designs, solve technical problems, and resolve conflicts between team members
- Lead the effort to architect and create the products in collaboration with architects and principal engineers
- Follow and establish engineering best practices; partner with architecture to ensure teams are living into architectural and security standards
- Participate in agile software product activities such as planning sessions, backlog refinement or retrospectives as needed
- Collaborate with other teams to share best practices and ensure interoperability with other services and systems
- Ensure team members play an active role in the decision-making process

Job Qualifications
- 7+ years’ work experience in database design, including 2 years’ experience as a Data Modeler/Architect
- Expert knowledge and understanding of conceptual, logical, canonical and physical database design concepts, some RDBMS as well as NoSQL platforms
- 3+ years of technical people leadership across geographical locations
- Experience with data management projects (data modeling, metadata, enterprise glossaries, data quality)
- Familiarty with XML and/or Json
Desired Competencies
- College degree in Computer Science or related field
- Experience with Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)
- Insurance industry experience
