We are looking for strong Director, Product Owner who will be responsible for translating portfolio-level business goals (e.g. increase sales to independent agents through improved digital quoting and binding) into technology product strategies for a given Value Stream. Responsible for ensuring customer satisfaction and overall progress of the transformation to Agile development methodology. You will direct a team of Senior Product Owners and leads Agile teams and partners to align priorities, remove roadblocks and secure resources. You will be accountable for outcomes and key KPI`s tied directly to business goals.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Partners with business units to take business strategy and translate into product strategies to support overall business goals.
  • Sets ambitious and clear channel strategy, develops comprehensive product vision and translates into specific feature strategies and roadmaps.
  • Responsible for business results of the related set of customer journeys or products as measured by relevant KPI`s. Responsible for communicating the product vision effectively to key partners and team members.
  • Works closely with IT and other Business Unit counterparts to ensure resource alignment in support of vision and roadmaps.
  • Ensures customer-driven design considering user pain points usability test results, while using market industry knowledge to deliver a well-positioned product
  • Owns alignment of development and business resources on goals and priorities while working with partners and team to remove roadblocks to execution.
  • Leads a team of Product Owner/ Associate product Owners who are responsible for all aspects of customer journey/product lifecycles. Participates to provide feedback, support, coaching, in sprint-and release plans.
  • Leads delivery of scope, partners with delivery teams to ensure user stories are clear and resolves open issues/questions quickly and efficiently.
  • Acts as the `voice of the customer. Is responsible for the analysis of feasibility, cost ramifications, economies, or other aspects of planned or potential programs. Approves final stories and approves completed user features or series of features.
  • Champions Agile development methodology transformation across the company through contribution to Agile education initiatives and communicating agile principles to executive audiences.

****This position can be located in any of the major NI offices****

Qualifications:
  • Business expertise and knowledge of Agile development methodologies and IT project management
  • Bachelors` degree in relevant field (business, computer science, etc.) and a minimum of 10 years` experience in business, engineering, technology and/or consulting. Master`s degree preferred. At least 5 years` experience leading product management teams.
  • Confirmed business expertise needed to set clear priorities across the product portfolio and drive business value.
  • Has in depth knowledge and ability to influence business strategy.
  • Possesses strong communication and influence skills within reporting line as well as with IT and business peers.
  • Excellent collaboration skills - leading execution across teams, influencing across organizations, respected, experience of working across levels from developers and designers
  • Demonstrates passion for improving customer outcomes and experiences and embraces change and `outside of the box` ideas does not feel attachment to the status quo.
  • Encourages non-hierarchical culture.
