We are seeking a Head of Americas for Liberty Global Transaction Solutions (GTS) business. This individual will drive growth of our book of M&A/Representations and Warranties, tax and contingent risk business across the United States, Canada and Latin America.

The Global Transaction Solutions team in the Americas includes 17 professionals located in New York, Toronto and Houston. The successful candidate will build on this base to grow the team into new regions in the United States and use the Liberty Mutual brand and reputation to establish GTS business in Latin America.

This is a highly visible role leading a core part of the Liberty GTS team, with exposure at senior levels throughout the company. The Head of Americas will work extensively with the President of Liberty GTS and regional and product heads to identify growth opportunities and win business. This role will also interact with HR, Claims, Actuarial, Sales and Marketing, Distribution and Finance. The Head of Americas is closely involved in providing input into the strategic agenda for Liberty GTS.

Qualifications:

• US, UK or Commonwealth-qualified corporate lawyer or possesses other highly relevant M&A transactional experience (such as corporate finance advisory, tax or accounting advice) with at least 10 years’ experience of complex cross jurisdictional M&A

• Demonstrates expert technical knowledge managing and/or negotiating M&A transactions, with significant experience negotiating representations and warranties and/or tax opinions. Experience with private equity and corporate transactions highly desired

• Possesses strong leadership skills with experience recruiting and managing high performing geographically dispersed teams

• Has a comprehensive network of corporate legal contacts

• Proven interpersonal and business development skills, with extensive experience building and maintaining partner relationships

• Business planning and financial reporting experience coupled with P&L responsibility helpful

• Confident attending and presenting at internal and external meetings and conferences

• Enthusiastic and creative in approaches, with an interest in innovation and continuous improvement

• Comfortable making decisions in a fast-paced environment on the basis of a legal assessment of risk
