How This Role Contributes to Brighthouse Financial:

The Infrastructure Technical Lead is an integral part of the Infrastructure Delivery team. They are responsible for delivering both business related projects as well as internally created Infrastructure initiatives in a timely manner. The Infrastructure Technical Lead will be accountable for following the process set forth by the Infrastructure Delivery team, adhering and upholding BHF’s Architectural standards, and following the organization’s Technology Delivery process. They are responsible to bring their technical background into the Project Management world and ensure all delivery documentation is complete and readily available for audit review.

Key Responsibilities:

The Infrastructure Technical Lead will ultimately be accountable for their portfolio of assigned projects and manage their time effectively. They will coordinate with all relevant parties from across IT and on the vendor side to gather, and document, all engineering related requirements as well as organize this information in the team’s central repository of work. They will track their portfolio using’s BHF standard project management tool and provide status updates on a regular basis to both the delivery lead as well as their IT delivery stakeholders.

Primary duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Maintaining portfolio of concurrent project responsibilities
  • Documenting requirements and coordinating the creation of design engineering documentation from a finalized, and approved, solution architecture
  • Coordinating with BHF and BHF vendors’ PMs/SMEs for technical review sessions
  • Scheduling, leading, and testing environmental changes to ensure successful completion and delivery of required Infrastructure services
  • Providing regular status reports to Project/Solution Owners as well as Infrastructure leadership
  • Troubleshooting technical obstacles with external vendors and internal BHF resources
  • Providing input and feedback to project teams on technical capabilities in the current state environment
  • Procuring delivery sign-off from IT delivery stakeholders and solution architects

Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:

  • 10-12 years of experience in Infrastructure services as a technical PM/Engineer
  • Working knowledge in the following infrastructure domains:
    • Networking – VPN, MPLS, Cloud Peering, Routing, WAN/LAN
    • Security Services – SSO, DLP, Firewalls, Endpint Protection
    • Applicatin client packaging and configuration for workstation and mobile devices
    • Familiarity with IAAS platfrms such as Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, and IBM SoftLayer
    • Office 365 suite (Outlok, Skype for Business, SharePoint etc.)
  • Works well in a team environment and can leverage resources where required
  • Excellent independent problem-solving skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Project Management certification is preferred but not required
  • Hands on experience with Equinix Cloud Exchange or other cloud peering exchanges a plus
