Job Description

This position is for a Senior Production support engineer who will be responsible for supporting a top tier business application. Primary responsibilities for this position will involve ensuring application availability(24x7), participating in outage calls and leading the team towards resolving outages, incident root cause analysis, problem and lifecycle management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide on call support for triaging incidents / problems and coordinating with various support teams and carryout activities related to incident management
  • Communicate with line of business and management the overall status and health of the application.
  • Look for areas of improvement in monitoring, application stability, and speed.
  • Perform trouble shooting, analysis, research and resolution using advanced query and programming skills. Conducts root cause analysis.
  • Work closely with IT teams in supporting Integrated / Independent releases, software/hardware upgrades.
  • Real-time restoration and triaging of issues impacting technical services (application/infrastructure) to customers and partners.
  • Assess initial severity, gather impacts, creates tickets in JIRA/KANBAN.
  • Test and validate system performance.

Key Responsibilities (Cont'd)

  • Provide communication to business partners and leadership and follow-up as necessary.
  • Uses subject matter expertise to coach and train less experienced employees to anticipate and prevent potential problems.
  • Lead the effort to develop and maintain tools for the use of maintaining, modifying and monitoring hardware and software technology components.
  • Lead the effort to determine the originating factors for a given incident and develop recommendations for preventing its repetition.
  • Develop plans to meet required service levels; design data collection and reporting mechanisms for technology component health reporting.
  • Support Technician and Sr. Technician level Service Engineers in project management, planning and estimating, reporting, scheduling, and workflow; guides junior level Service Engineers in these processes.

Job Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of experience working with JavaScript on development and support projects.
  • 3+ years of experience working on React JS and Restful services.
  • 3+ years of experience working on of support of 24x7 support operations staff.
  • 4-5 years of relevant IT experience (Production Support or development using SDLC- Waterfall / Agile) preferred
  • Exhibit a strong sense of urgency for high severity incidents. Able to assess the customer impact and provide tactical solutions
  • Should have experience using SPLUNK and Dynatrace.
  • Should have experience and understanding of Service oriented architecture.
  • Provide generic solutions/workaround and avoid recurring of incidents. Proactively monitor the production environment and identify the potential incidents
