Job Family Summary

At Allstate, Finance plays a critical role in partnering with business units and leaders in the assessment, implication and implementation of key business strategies. Financial Analysts will utilize an accelerated development timeline in order to hone technical, analytical and consulting skills to become an integral part of this decision making process with Regional business leaders. Additionally, the purpose of the department is assisting in the safeguards of company assets, providing timely and accurate external reporting, presenting financial analysis of trends and key issues, and providing financial tools to functional business leaders to enable them to make timely, accurate, and fact based decisions that enhance shareholder value.

Job Description

As mentioned the Financial Analyst will develop, maintain and analyze operational and statistical data to be used for business analysis in the Regional Office. The Analyst will serve in a consulting capacity for the Finance organization to assist Regional leadership in the communication and interpretation of results, management of expenses, development of appropriate business cases, and the direction of action plans.

Key Responsibilities

  • The ideal candidate will create models to measure financial data, prepare written narratives and/or presentations to explain outcomes of the data to management and peers.
  • This individual will have the ability to apply standardized mathematical concepts to solve problems and prepare reports for analysis.
  • He/she will also have the ability to leverage technical skills in support of team objectives.
  • The ideal candidate will be responsible for quality and quantity of sound decisions around processes and issues within the scope of daily responsibilities.
  • The candidate will construct forecasting models to optimize and identify the strategic financial direction for the regional office.
  • The successful candidate will have general knowledge of business area processes, including best practices in order to support the area's projects, products and services.
  • This candidate will have effective communication in working with others in everyday situations and have the ability to interact effectively and lead change with internal and external customers.

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Accounting or related field is mandatory.
  • Excellent oral communication and time management skills are a must.
  • The ideal candidate will have advanced mathematical and analytical thinking skills and a clear understanding of general business financial applications and formulas.
  • He/she will have the ability to predict market trends, analyze statistical factors, research trends and understand implications of surrounding markets.
  • This individual will have exceptional oral and written skills and the ability to understand and report on all forms of business statistical information.
  • Finally, the successful candidate will make decisions, solve problems and meet challenges in completing work.
  • Minimum GPA Required: 3.2
  • Strong skills in Word, PowerPoint, Access and especially Excel are required and experience with SAP and Visual Basics is a plus!
