The Line of Business (LOB) Product Marketing Director is responsible for helping to develop strategy and the value proposition for Business-to Business and Business-to-Consumer sales support materials, prospecting tools, and advertising planning for Assurant’s Flood Solutions LOB.

Contributes to the development and implementation of an integrated marketing and communication strategy for assigned businesses.

This position is responsible for helping drive sales and client and consumer satisfaction through effective marketing tools that support our brand, business line and geographic program objectives.


In this role, the ideal candidate will partner with the business leaders, sales leaders and business development professionals in the creation of product marketing programs and activities, and the creation of specific support materials. The candidate will collaborate with LOB marketing team members, sales teams, marketing centers of excellence (COEs) and delivery teams to manage programs/projects and carrying processes through to completion.

  • Assists in the development of the product and business unit value proposition, go-to-market planning and the creation of a product marketing roadmap.
  • Develops product positioning and messaging that differentiates our products in the market
  • Creates the sales tools that support the successful selling of our products and services.
  • As a member of the LOB marketing team, serves as the main contact on the development of point of sale planning and material development
  • Serves as the primary product marketing subject matter expert for Flood Solutions
  • Develops marketing plans and related collateral for product launches in partnership with COEs.
  • Works closely with COEs to ensure consistency in messaging and creative brand alignment on web, social, collateral and other channels.
  • In partnership with commercial teams, develops successful presentation materials and sales toolkits that effectively articulate our product value.
  • Responsible for overseeing related product advertising and media planning in partnership with the marketing COEs.
  • Defines assets for and manages the digital asset library and toolkit for dealer clients. Works in partnership with creative services to create appropriate assets
  • Understanding and monitoring competitive products and positioning.
  • Works closely with business unit marketing team members and other marketing and communication teams to ensure consistency of message and tactics to drive growth.
  • Develops benchmark criteria/metrics to measure the efficiency and effectiveness of marketing programs.

Near Term Objectives:

  • Develops and implements marketing plans to support web, sales materials, presentations and other collateral.
  • Leads client marketing and collateral needs for Flood Solutions.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration or other related fields
  • 8 + years progressing experience in B2B marketing and business development support leadership roles
  • Ability to build relationship at all levels of organizations, generate consensus and navigate across cross - functional teams
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Strong analytical and decision-making abilities
  • Desire to work in a fast-paced environment with complex and changing market dynamics
  • Experience in managing cross-functional teams, including external vendors and media agencies

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience working in business to business financial services industry
  • Prior experience supporting a B2B sales organization
  • Advanced knowledge of digital marketing, marketing strategy, and sales enablement
  • Proven success in the management of digital marketing programs and ability to align with sales objectives
  • Ability to manage multiple, complex priorities within demanding time-frames
  • Demonstrated ability to think outside the box while identifying problems and developing creative solutions
