Assurant is currently seeking a Compliance Operations Specialist for the Miami, FL office

As the Compliance Operations Specialist, you are responsible for working on various compliance assignments and programs. You will be leading, managing and conducting work needed to build the corporate compliance program. Responsibilities include Compliance process implementation and improvement, project management, process overflow and maintenance, new business integration activity coordination, compliance integration, SOP development, system enhancements, application maintenance, building reports, data collections, data analytics and building dashboards for management to make data driven decision.

1. Operational Integration and Implementation & project management (40%)

This individual is responsible for evaluating existing compliance processes and utilizing technology to provide efficient solutions.

This individual will be required to develop, manage and deliver on projects related the integration/implementation of compliance efforts. This will include both technical and non-technical project types. They will be required to be able to facilitate projects related to acquisitions, divestiture, vendor selection, and business processes. They will be responsible for the development of all project documentation, budget, and communications. In addition, they will be held accountable for identifying project risks, time frame and scope. They will be responsible for the identification and recruiting of project resources. They will be responsible for working directly with all levels of management within and outside of the compliance team to successfully deliver on each project. They will be expected to develop and utilize repeatable processes so that projects can be easily transitioned when needed. They are expected that all projects comply with established corporate and IT standards and methodologies including, but is not limited to, Data Analytics, financial, ITIL, security, audit, SOX, and configuration management.

2. Compliance initiatives (20%)

This individual will be responsible for facilitating Compliance programs. This individual will work to develop processes and programs to deliver key information related to each compliance topic to the board, Senior management and to the business. They will be responsible for working with the corporate teams to implement programs that complement the overall corporate approach. They will be responsible for creating and updating processes, training courses and communications to provide programs that educate and reinforce our corporate compliance policies and programs. This person will be responsible for managing various systems that support the corporate processes for the domestic and international employees.

3. Reporting (20%)

This individual will be responsible for creating reports for the compliance team. This person will be responsible for providing responses for all the various Compliance areas. They will be responsible for the coordination within the Compliance team to be able to appropriately respond to each request. They will be responsible for developing standard reports that can be used as part of a basic repeatable process. They will be responsible for having enough of an understanding about each of the Compliance areas to be able to complete all report requests. They will be responsible for coordinating and obtaining approval for all requests.

4. Data Analytics (25%)

This role is responsible for data mining, data analysis, and data visualization of databases. This individual must have a working knowledge of the compliance functions to be able to create compliance dashboards.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or 6 years equivalent experience.

• 3 years Project Management experience

• 5 years business experience

• 3 years reporting experience

• 2 years of Power BI, SQL, DAX, Data Modeling and power query.

• 1 year in a lead roll

Preferred Qualifications

• Good written and verbal communications to various levels of audiences within an organization

• Ability to manage high complexity projects

• Conceptual understanding of Assurant IT infrastructure, Data Analytics, data optimization, data center operations, mainframe systems, distributed systems, Internet/Intranet and networks
