We are a successful, growing Property & Casualty Insurance group of companies headquartered in Miami, Florida; and we are looking for a PD Claims Manager to join our team. 

The primary focus of the Claims Manager is to manage the daily operations of the PD claims team and provide superior technical claim support to both internal and external customers. The Claims Manager will oversee the production and administration of all claims within standards, focusing on staffing, training and development and implementing policies that support the company’s goals and objectives. This position can be located in Dallas, TX or in Miami, FL.

Principal Responsibilities  

• Manage, coach and lead a team of Claims Adjusters and Supervisors; including monitoring attendance, personnel issues, performance evaluations, development plans, training, and disciplinary action. 
• Take ownership for results and claim-related outcomes. 
• Provide oversight and direction on claims handling; including reserving, investigation, evaluation of coverage, payment, and final resolution. 
• Provide guidance and direction to Claims staff on proper claim handling in the PD department. 
• Assist Claims staff in verifying PD policies and procedures; including coverage, benefit eligibility and appropriate handling of the loss consistent with claim handling best practices.  

Desired Skills and Experience  

• 2+ years of management experience in a claims unit 
• Bachelor’s degree required 
• Spanish fluency highly preferred 
• Ability to handle multiple tasks with frequent interruptions 
• Ability to work under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment 
• Creative thinker who is easily adaptable.
