Job Summary
The Associate Creative Director/Copy is responsible for managing a team of copywriters, graphic designers, conceptual designers, and/or videographers who conceive, write and execute advertising materials for internal and external marketing channels - including video, print, social, digital and other emerging mediums. Demonstrates a seasoned understanding of and passion for all aspects of creative work - including design, writing and creativity.

Primary Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Inspires and achieves a high level of output and produces the best possible work for clients, from a design, copy and conceptual point of view.
- Works closely with account service and marketing clients to ensure creative work meets strategy.
- Reviews and when necessary, helps refine creative briefs developed by the marketing team.
- Manages and/or works on several campaigns at once, under pressure and on tight deadlines.
- Provides guidance and leadership in brainstorming ideas and concepts.
- Partners with creative teams to develop multiple concepts/campaigns for assigned products/projects.
- Oversees, mentors and assigns work to a team of copywriters, graphic designers, conceptual designers or videographers and above to generate integrated concepts and ideas.
- Manages the creation, development and delivery of moderate to complex written and/or multimedia content for use across different mediums and published across a variety of marketing channels.
- Provides guidance and oversight on concepts, copy and visual design to less senior members of the creative team.
- Reviews ideas (self and teams) and discusses progress with creative director and/or executive creative director.
- Prepares, oversees and presents complex and integrated campaigns. Represents the creative team with in-depth knowledge of why choices are being made. Articulates campaign messaging, approaches and priorities.
- Amends, revises or redevelops campaigns in response to feedback from the creative director, executive creative director or clients.
- Establishes work objectives and goals for employees and manages performance; typically involved in hiring and compensation decisions.
- Keeps self and teams up to date with popular culture and trends.
- Understands importance of making sure final output (copy, art, design and video) is aligned with Travelers brand guidelines and follows internal approval processes.

Minimum Qualifications
Minimum of 6 years of experience in a creative function. Minimum of 4 years of leadership experience (formally).
Education, Work Experience & Knowledge
- Bachelor's Degree in English, Creative Writing, Journalism, Marketing, Communications or related field or equivalent experience preferred.
- 4 years of leadership experience preferred.
- 7+ years of related experience, specifically in a creative design function preferred.
- Seasoned knowledge of company products, services, marketing strategies and company brand guidelines, standards/practices.
- An exceptional on-line portfolio that showcases a seasoned understanding of innovative concepts and integrated creative solutions. Can be a mix of spec and actual work demonstrating innovative concepts and creative solutions.
