This position requires a self-driven technically proficient individual with ability to apply knowledge of software and infrastructure engineering best practices to develop effective automation strategies for performance engineering and testing in an Agile/Devops environment.

Bond and Specialty Insurance is seeking a senior performance test engineer to provide strategy and thought leadership with respect to Performance Engineering and testing in a highly automated Devops/ Agile environment.
Key activities will include
  • Maintaining a working knowledge of current and emerging industry trends and techniques with respect to Performance Engineering and Testing, for Continuous Integration and Delivery
  • Designing and developing performance, load, stress, scalability, and reliability tests at system, sub-system, and component levels
  • Analyzing performance of infrastructure stack and applications including in a production environment, in addition to providing recommendations for optimizations
  • Executing various types of performance tests, analyzing results, and collecting necessary metrics
  • Building, maintaining, and utilizing partnerships across the enterprise ensuring the best use of resources.
  • As CoE lead, adopting and communicating new concepts, ideas, techniques, best practices and technology assistance
  • Collaborating with other CoE functions to provide optimal solutions
  • Highlighting key findings and recommendations

 

7 years of programming/development experience preferred. Experience as a technical lead preferred.
  • Leverages enterprise and industry best practices and standards.
  • Builds, leverages, and maintains effective alliances across technical and business community.
  • Knowledge of different types of performance strategies and tests and when to apply them to gain useful information on system performance characteristics and patterns
  • Demonstrates sound analytical and diagnostic skills dealing with issues that are loosely defined and where information is available but must be further manipulated. 
  • Strong communication and decision-making skills. 
  • Openly and directly confronts conflict until resolved.  Knows how to execute to get things done.  Optimizes the use of all available resources.
  • Keeps apprised of industry trends and applies this knowledge to solutions.
  • Able to set and assign technical goals and priorities for self and team members. Exhibits team leadership. Able to set team's technical direction.
  • Experience with programming languages, preferably.Net
  • Experience with various performance testing tools and technologies including Performance Center, Loadrunner, Jmeter, Appmon and Dynatrace.
  • Experience with monitoring technologies
  • Experience providing Application Performance Management support for Cloud-Native applications (leveraging Cloud Foundry, Kubernetes-based platforms, etc.)


A bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or its equivalent in work experience, and five years of programming/development experience.
