Job Details
Under general direction, the Senior Analyst, Advanced Analytics performs moderate to high complexity analysis to validate and/or develop new pricing functionality and then works with filings and IT delivery partners to efficiently and quickly implement proposed changes.
Responsibilities:
Makes recommendations for improvements. Provides consultation on complex business issues to the state and product management teams. Implements adapted country wide initiatives and conducts analyses to help shape and inform strategic business decisions. Leads own work stream on moderate to high complexity projects. Presents results to key stakeholders.
Conducts moderate to high complexity analysis under general direction.
- Acts as subject matter expert for assigned line of business. Understands how policies are modeled, rated, sold, how data is initially captured, and how that data flows downstream into the tables used for reporting and analytical work.
- Queries data to conduct ad hoc analysis of metrics and builds tools and queries for others to use.
- Completes regular profitability analyses and similar work independently. Critically reviews the results, presents findings to stakeholders, and recommends process improvements.
- Provides thoughtful recommendations to state teams on pricing, strategy, etc.
- Educates IT partners on business vision and plan, and both IT and business partners on the impact of changes.
- Serves as point person for moderate to high complexity country wide implementations.
- Leads own work streams on medium to long-term or moderate to high complexity projects. May manage aspects of low to moderate complexity projects.
- Through research, identifies and proposes changes to our product offerings.
- Analyzes trends and is responsible for tactical and strategic recommendations.
- Considers the filing implications of proposed changes and helps to develops rate filings support for new content.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in business, economics, or other quantitative field.
Minimum 3 years, typically 4 years or more of relevant work experience.
Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, and data analysis software (e.g., SAS). Must have good planning, organizational, analytical, decision making and communication skills.
