GRS Global Innovation & Insights is looking for a highly motivated, intellectually curious individual to join the team to lead innovation and strategy for the Future of Mobility – including autonomous, connected, electric, and shared vehicle technologies and trends. Liberty Mutual Insurance has a head start towards a leadership position in this burgeoning space. As Manager, Innovation, you will collaborate cross-functionally with the Liberty Mutual Mobility Pod and others across GRS to research, design, and develop innovative new solutions to support our goal to become a leading carrier in this space.

The ideal candidate will have underwriting and product knowledge, market facing (production/distribution) experience, and expertise in the mobility/autonomous vehicle space.

As Manager, Innovation - Future of Mobility, this individual will be responsible for building strong partnerships inside and outside of Liberty Mutual to support capability building and business development via our Emerging Risk Incubator. They also will be responsible for analyzing current trends in and adjacent to the domain to derive strategic insights; conducting research and analysis in support of strategic initiatives; delivering actionable recommendations; and managing stakeholders, strategy, projects, and policy decisions. An entrepreneurial mindset and a willingness to approach work in an agile fashion – rapidly iterating to test, learn, and improve – will go far in this dynamic role.

• Acts as a senior-level individual contributor supporting largest and complex work. Will manage a large program of activity, supported by other contributors

• Manages multiple moderate to high complexity projects and/or analysis under general direction (e.g. trend analysis, strategy, concept development, prototyping, startup engagements, and collaboration). May manage aspects of low to moderate complexity projects

• Works with LM Mobility Pod and GRS leaders to develop market relationships to meet goals and shape the strategy and direction of the mobility space

• Provides complex analysis of innovation results, test results, market trends to help drive and support business decisions, offering tactical and strategic recommendations

• Provides input to recommendations based on analysis completed

• Consults on moderately complex business issues, innovation considerations and business impacts

• Based on strong understanding of how competitor actions impact marketplace, distribution channel and customers, conducts in depth research utilizing various sources

• Makes presentations and recommendation to Senior Managers

Qualifications:

• Six or more years of business, economics, innovation, or similar relevant work experience with Bachelor’s degree or higher. Master’s degree preferred

• Experience managing multiple moderate to high complexity projects and/or analysis under general direction

• Passion/experience in automotive /mobility space preferred

• Proven ability to partner with and influence key business partners

• Must have experience in building and implementing strategy, as well as, providing tactical and strategic recommendations using analytics to drive and support business decisions

• Knowledge of the business (lines, systems, pricing plans), data sources, and analytics tools

• Must have good planning, organizational, analytical, decision making and communication skills

• Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, and analysis
