How This Role Contributes to Brighthouse Financial:

The Distribution Expense Coordinator will support the Distribution Leaders by overseeing and processing expense report for their teams. This role will provide more timely follow up, resolve expense discrepancies, identify spend trends and reduce late fees while allowing leaders to focus on growing and maintaining sales efforts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Reviews a high volume of expense reports for field-based associates and processes for payment
  • Verifies reports for accuracy and compliance with company policy
  • Assists the field associates with expense related questions, Concur processing and day to day compliance policy questions in a timely manner
  • Provides a list of all discrepancies to appropriate employees for adjustments
  • Researches and resolves billing and / or payment discrepancies or other outstanding issues
  • Provides regular reporting to supervising principal the status of expense submissions from their employees
  • Notifies management of any policy related issues
  • Works collaboratively with members of the finance and expense team to ensure workflow is coordinated
  • Performs occasional expense analysis; identifying spend trends and other reporting as defined by management
  • Assist in training of current and new employees
  • Other duties as assigned

Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:

  • 2 – 4 years-experience in an expense related or sales support role
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Strong analytical, organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Quick learner, ability to receptive to feedback to learn and grow
  • Ability to be a self-starter, work effectively and independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to create statistical reports
  • Knowledge of wholesaling concepts
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Word, PowerPoint and Excel
  • Knowledge of Concur preferred
