Job Description
The Support Function is responsible for assisting claims professionals or a Field office by performing analysis or activities related to customer satisfaction, loss, and expense management, or other claim activity. Support may include clerical data entry, processing claims, medical, and witness report requests, filing paper documents, processing claims payments, and performing word processing. Support also may include obtaining first notice of loss reports from claimant/agent via telephone/fax/mail/internet. General work includes claim support work in any of the claims disciplines/functions.
Under general supervision, this job provides support to claim personnel through a variety of routine tasks of basic complexity requiring some independent judgment. The individual is expected to deliver compassionate service that is fast, fair, and easy, to ensure customer retention.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Service
- Makes and maintains a connection with the customer by understanding and meeting their needs; serves the customer with empathy; and follows up to ensure that customer needs have been met
Admin Support
- Performs clerical duties, including data entry, filing paper documents, email, calendar management, and word processing
- Retrieves, prints and faxes, or mails supporting documentation to vendors or others as directed
- Processes, sorts, indexes and routes incoming and outgoing communications related to claim operations
- Collects, organizes and maintains standard information for files, forms, records and reports
- Receives, screens and routes telephone calls and other electronic correspondence
- Provides back-up for any support function in the office
Claims Operations Support
- Provides information and assistance of a general nature to leaders and employees
- Completes all necessary forms, logs documents into the system, and routes them to the appropriate parties
Hours and Compensation:
Starting Salary $31,200
Hours: Must be able to work a scheduled shift Monday - Friday from 7:00am -7:00pm.
Job Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- At least 1 year of customer service experience in a professional work environment
- Good organization skills with timely follow-up skills
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Knowledge of Excel and Word
- Performs routine tasks of basic complexity under general supervision
