The Application Developer Lead Consultant provides code/design analysis and strategy, supports project planning, and develops code and designs for complex projects. The Lead Consultant manages the review of code, design, and testing for junior Application Developers and peers. The Lead Consultant serves as a technical expert which coaches and mentors Application developer specialists and professionals.

This position is on the IT Acquisition team which is responsible for supporting several business-critical applications for day to day operations and large strategic projects. These vital applications are responsible for all the enrollments, processing, and display of policy information from Agents as well as 3rd Party integrators. This role is responsible for ensuring streamlined development occurs on the applications and avoiding code contention issues across the team’s inflight work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strong understanding of .Net/SQL with good understanding of microservices architecture
  • Well versed with design such as OOP, Resiliency, Circuit Breaker Develop and consume APIs using HTTP/Rest
  • Critique business, functional, and high level technical requirements (including recovery, security, and audit)
  • Evaluate detailed technical design components and acts as a referral expert in appropriate languages, data structures, vended packages, techniques and design methods
  • Promote and define development standards
  • Assist with project estimating and milestone planning
  • Designs solutions for high-complexity projects
  • Perform coding of complex modules, as needed

Overall

• Responsible for assigned deliverables of the Strategy, Innovation & Product Development Team

• Participate as a key SI&PD team member providing thought leadership, contribute oversight and direction on the ARS strategy, value proposition, and innovative products, services and technologies

• Develop a strong innovation road-map and “game changing ideas” that align ARS business strategy and business model, and that drive ARS to the forefront of the roadside assistance industry

• Lead and execute innovative and strategic projects that create competitive advantage and drive operational effectiveness

  • Develop and communicate broad understanding of consumer insights, competitor insights, and emerging industry trends to inform and develop a robust pipeline of ARS products

• Benchmark best practices in the industry; bring outside information in

• Identify and size new product opportunities; evaluate the market and competitive environment, for new products and product extensions that support the ARS strategy

• Influence technology strategy and business decisions by providing direction in forecasting, strategic planning, measurement, partner performance, financial performance, etc.

• Build and maintain internal and external networks of innovation contacts

• Collaborate with key stakeholders (clients, network providers, suppliers, customers, colleagues, etc.) to drive innovation and “learning” initiatives

• Influence and persuade leaders within and outside of ARS to gain acceptance for complex ideas/new methodologies

• Promote a culture of high performance and continuous improvement that values learning and a commitment to quality

Technical and Professional Expertise - Required

  • At least 5 years of experience with ASP.Net MVC, JavaScript/JQuery, REST Standards;
  • At least 5 years of front end experience using HTML, CSS, Bootstrap, and JavaScript;
  • At least 5 years of Agile (one or more of these) JIRA, Confluence;
  • At least 5 years supporting full lifecycle delivery of complex systems, including requirements, design, build, test, and deployment;
  • At least 5 years implementing standards for system design and development processes, methods, and tools;
  • At least 3 years participating on Agile teams, including practice of Pair Programming and Test Driven Development;
  • At least 3 years working with Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery processes and tool automation (one or more of these) Jenkins, Artifactory, SonarQube, Git, Octopus.

  • Computer Science Engineering Degree or related field
