Drift is a new car sharing platform focused on improving mobility and reducing the cost of car ownership. We give car owners a way to earn extra income from their idle cars and connect drivers with a convenient, affordable way to drive a car when they want.
Job Description
As Drift grows, we need someone to contribute to thinking about how we should position ourselves in the mobility space, define and refine our venture goals and milestones, build and execute the process by which we set goals and build forecasts for each business and function, and help inform and make tradeoffs so business and functional team can work more effectively.
The Finance and Strategy Associate for Drift will address these needs by creating strategic plans and milestones that go to Drift’s management team and Board, collaborating with business and functional team to develop financial projections that predict and track performance, and preparing financial reports and analyses of financial and accounting data. This person will need to build financial reports while also building a deep understanding of the business inputs that drive those financial outputs and making recommendations to improve the business.
Job Responsibilities
- Understand and identify business drivers of financial performance, and develop insights to make business recommendations for achieving financial targets
- Develop comprehensive budgeting and forecasting models and estimates, including monthly and annual P&L and cash flow projections, and progress against targets
- Prepare accurate and timely internal management reports and analyses to inform business decisions and share financial information with management
- Conduct research on external companies and various markets to make strategic recommendations that improve organizational decision making
- Communicate reports and recommendations in a clear and concise manner to stakeholders across seniorities, functions, and levels of financial experience
- Collaborate with General Managers, product, marketing, design and management teams to drive development of milestones and strategies
- Manage complex projects addressing ambiguous business issues
Job Qualifications
Strong candidates will have many of the following skills and experience:
- 3+ years of financial analysis, FP&A, or accounting experience, preferably for a marketplace or Financial Services organization
- BA or BS in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics, Business or related area of study
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint required
- Strong knowledge of finance and accounting concepts
- Strong logic and business understanding to develop insights into root causes of financial outcomes
- Ability to understand broad business questions and prioritize by impact
- Ability to communicate technical finance and accounting concepts to a non-technical audience
- Excellent project management skills with demonstrated ability to lead multiple projects and priorities
- Self-direction in ambiguous environments
- Intellectual curiosity and passion for continuous improvement
- Effective time management skills and organizational skills with the ability to adapt to the changing needs of the business
- Strong interpersonal and oral and written communication skills, and ability to work effectively with teams and individuals in all levels of the organization
