NSM Insurance Group’s Strategy & Analytics Department’s goal is to provide analytical insights to business stakeholders utilizing data to drive business decisions. The team serves all departments across NSM Insurance Group, including but not limited to, Claims, Underwriting, Marketing, and Finance. The primary role for the Loss Analyst is to assist with optimizing TPA claims management, developing claims handling KPIs, reporting, and analyzing loss development. You will have the ability to query, analyze data, and present findings/recommendations to business stakeholders to maximize the profitability of NSM Insurance Groups’ programs. You will do this by compiling data from disparate source systems, creating interactive reports to help analyze data, and building presentations to communicate information.

• Analyze internal/external data sets using SQL Management Studio and visualization tools
• Compile and verify data utilized for periodic scheduled reporting
• Develop an understanding of all data contained within multiple data marts and source systems
• Translate business requirements into technical requirements for enhancements and new custom reports
• Analyze claims handling KPIs to assist Claims Director in management of claims TPA
• Assess loss development for each program and calculate loss development factors
• Assist Director of Strategy & Analytics and Analytics Manager in creating loss ratio reports
• Perform regular data analysis monitoring to provide prescriptive recommendations based on data
• Lead projects and drive recommendations to internal and external stakeholders
• Perform ad-hoc analysis to find solutions to business inquiries

• Degree in Mathematics, Economics, Finance, or other quantitative degrees.
• 3+ years of experience with SQL
• 3+ years analyzing claims data
• 2+ years of experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI, Qlik, or Tableau
• 2+ years of experience with statistical programming languages such as R, Python, or SAS preferred
• Advanced in Excel
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Able to tell a story using data
• Proactive and able to work in autonomous work environment
