Job Summary
Under moderate supervision, performs a broad range of assignments within the Employee Relations department. Responsibilities include complex administrative work, reporting and data analysis, assisting and/or managing basic employee relations cases and activities such as accommodations requests, exit trigger investigations, benchmarking of best practices, project management and recruiting.

This job does not manage staff.

Primary Job Duties & Responsibilities
Administrative Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Handles complex and highly confidential administrative assignments of a broad and varied nature, including but not limited to: complex scheduling involving internal, external, and company-wide events.
  • Manages documentation and case tracking, responds to file requests, serves as records management coordinator, manages the ER Knowledge Exchange SharePoint site, HR Policy Archive and non-exempt requests for mobile devices.
  • Assists with recruiting and onboarding activities.
  • Assists with creating and managing the departments annual budget, vendor payment requests and department purchasing; travel planning and preparing/submitting expense accounts.


ER Assignments:
  • Manages assigned accommodation requests in a timely and effective manner and in compliance with federal and state laws. Collects information from employees, medical providers, management and other constituents, coordinates input, advising management and employees as to reasonable alternatives, and recommends and makes appropriate determinations for employee requests for medical accommodations, including temporary parking medical requests, restrictions stemming from a leave of absence and general accommodation requests.
  • Assists in the investigation of employee complaints regarding alleged violation of company policies, unfair treatment, discrimination, harassment, or other behavior/conduct that is inconsistent with federal, state or local laws or company policy. Collaborates with senior members of the ER team, HRGs, managers, employees and other functional partners to include Legal Services, Talent Acquisition, Compensation, HR Operations, Benefits, Leave of Absence Administration, Employee Services Unit, Corporate Security, Corporate Environmental Health and Safety/Ergonomics, Risk Control, Worker's Compensation, etc. on assigned ER matters.
  • Regularly interacts with internal executives, managers, and employees, recruiting contacts (internal/external), and applicants. Frequent problem solving with internal and external staff.
  • Identifies key trends or issues through analyzing Travelers metrics as well as external benchmarking data and then communicating the results/ actionable items to senior members of the Employee Relations team, HRGs, or other functional partners as appropriate.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma required.

Education, Work Experience & Knowledge
Bachelor's degree strongly preferred.
Typically has a minimum of 1-2 years professional experience with Human Resources or Employee Relations experience preferred.
General knowledge of employment laws and regulations preferred.
