Growing MGA in North Dallas is looking to expand inside sales team and offers a fantastic culture, great growth opportunity for someone who has experience in Insurance for at least 1+ years either on carrier or agency side who enjoys making calls, driving business through existing agencies and working on projects to drive certain programs or line of business up in certain markets.

Develop strong working relationships with independent agents and P&C Team in OKC and TX offices. Educate agents on our products and the benefits of using our organization for their insurance coverage needs. Create marketing strategies by acquiring knowledge of competition’s products and pricing.

Essential Functions:

  • Maintain regular contact and communication with agencies through visits via phone (80%) and in person (20%).
  • Establish relationships with agents in the targeted marketing area.
  • Maintain knowledge of company’s products and programs and train new and existing agents on products offered.
  • Solicit business from new and existing agencies.
  • Assist agents in providing underwriting information necessary for risk approval.
  • Maintain and provide to manager a weekly call report on agency visits.
  • Stay current on competition in the area and communicate developments to create new strategies
  • Organize agency calls to maximize effectiveness.
  • Monitor agencies activity using submission reports and premium production reports. Review the information with the agent.
  • Prospect for new agency appointments.
  • Process new submission on occasions to gain full knowledge of entire process
  • Solicit information from office personnel regarding agency issues and help resolve any problems.
  • Identify concerns or problems and assist agents in solving problems.
  • Train agents on online rating program.
  • Additional duties as assigned by supervisors.
  • Attend agent conventions in the assigned area to promote products and services offered.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • P&C insurance experience including processing submissions, limited underwriting and marketing strategies to obtain new business and maintain existing business.
  • Knowledge and understanding of overall agency operations.
  • Strong relationship and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent listening, communication, and written skills.
  • Good organization and time management skills.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of professionalism.
  • Ability to evaluate viable agency relationships.
  • Ability to use systems and software.
  • Ability to analyze customer needs based on market conditions.
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities.
  • Self-directed, willing and able to travel long distances.
  • Ability to anticipate and solve problems and make decisions.
  • Ability to work under pressure.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • College degree or equivalent years of experience in the P&C Insurance industry
  • Knowledge of the P&C Insurance industry
  • Excellent communication skills

Working Conditions:

  • This position requires working irregular hours beyond regular office hours.
  • It can also require working some weekends and holidays.
  • Entertaining agents at social events along with their spouses may be required.
  • Ability to drive 100 to 300 miles a day and maintain a schedule of appointments.
  • Ability to transport and setup convention booth, carrying marketing materials and equipment from parking lots to convention facilities.
