Job Family Summary
Provides accounting support and expertise to internal and external customers and business partners for manual and automated financial transactions and policy updates. Utilizes multiple systems and channels to investigate and resolve variances and exceptions.
Job Description
Under some direction, processes company financial data transactions from multiple business areas within Allstate to ensure compliant and accurate processing. Investigates and understands compliance requirements for applicable processes. Completes processes and tasks of a moderate to complex nature while developing expertise and knowledge.
Key Responsibilities
Reconciles accounts
- Balances complex general ledger accounts including analyzing and investigating variances with little supervision.
- Assists in month-end reporting procedures and financial close process.
- Researches and communicates with internal and external customers to resolve moderate to complex issues.
Processes invoices and payments and resolves exceptions
- Researches, investigates, and resolves complex exceptions, variances, or posting errors.
- Researches, investigates, and processes financial transactions according to system and customer requirements.
Maintains customer and financial data
- Establishes and maintains master data related to financial processing.
- Prepares and maintains supporting documentation per company and legal requirements.
- Follows all company and legal procedures related to sensitive data.
Interacts with business partners and customers
- Interacts extensively in written and verbal form with internal and external business partners.
- Participates in and assists with meetings to include internal and external business partners.
- Presents complicated information with guidance and direction.

Demonstrates understanding of business platforms, processes and SOX environment (SME)
- Navigates business platforms and systems.
- Identifies system issues and takes steps to resolve or escalate.
- Resolves intermediate customer inquiries and/or technical issues.
Monitors and Verifies Quality
- Understands and achieves quality and timeliness expectations within specific areas of responsibility and is aware of relationship to other work processes.
- Demonstrates Subject Matter Expertise within key areas of responsibility.
- Verifies quality and provides informal feedback to peers related to quality standards and performance.
- Processes business related functions in accordance with compliance, legal, and business requirement guidelines.
- Works effectively with vendor partners both onshore and offshore.
- Utilizes appropriate tools and technology to support virtual partnerships and training.
Manages workflow
- Completes a wide range of responsibilities and processes with minimal supervision or guidance.
- Anticipates upcoming workflow changes and coordinates accordingly. Adapts to changing workflow demands.

- Is the Subject Matter Expert, can train others, and assist in transition of work processes to other global sites.
- Assists in implementation of new projects and processes within work unit.
- Coordinates, collaborates with other work areas.
Job Qualifications
- Two or more years of Accounting related experience or experience handling financial data or transactions required
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required
- Fundamental proficiency in Microsoft Office- Outlook, Excel, and Word required
- Good oral and written communication skills required
- Good problem solving skills required
- Ability to train others required
- SAP Knowledge and experience preferred
- Basic project management skills preferred
Regular, predictable attendance is an essential function of this job.
