The System Architect/Engineer role provides technical enablement for the systems and capability areas of an Agile Release Train within the Claim Business Intelligence and Analytics Value Stream.   This role supports solution development by providing, communicating and evolving the broader technology and architectural view of the solution.  This role works within the Program Team and Agile Release Train (ART) in determining the system, subsystems, and interfaces, validating technology assumptions and evaluating alternatives, and participating in defining the higher-level functional and nonfunctional requirements (NFRs).  The System Architect/Engineer understands the solution context and works closely with business stakeholders, teams, partners and suppliers to help ensure fitness for purpose.
This role is a Lean-Agile Leader who understand the complexities of large-scale solution development and applies SAFe Lean-Agile principles and practices - doing what works, trying new things, and stopping doing things that don't work.
Your DAY...
  • You will participate in planning, definition, and high-level design of the solution and explore solution alternatives
  • You will define, explore, and support the implementation of ART enablers to evolve solution intent, working directly with Agile teams to implement them
  • You will plan and develop the Architectural Runway in support of new business Features and Capabilities
  • You will actively participate in the Continuous Exploration process as part of the Continuous Delivery Pipeline, especially with enabler Epics
  • You will work with portfolio stakeholders, notably the Solution Architect, to develop, analyze, split, and realize the implementation of enabler epics
  • You will work with the Program team to determine capacity allocation for enablement work
  • You will participate in Program Increment (PI) Planning and Pre- and Post-PI Planning, System and Solution Demos, and Inspect and Adapt events
  • You will evolve Claim Technology Business Intelligence and Analytics strategy as a member of the strategy team
  • You will provide human resources leadership
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred
  • 7 years of systems architect/engineering experience within the Business Intelligence and Analytics field preferred    
  • Command of ETL concepts, data analysis and analytic/data visualization tools (e.g. Abinitio, Cognos, Qlik, Hive) and experience working in one or more data platforms (e.g. Teradata, Hadoop, DB2) 
  • 2 years of human resource management experience preferred
  • Exposure to building software solutions on Public Cloud such as AWS and GCP


High School diploma or equivalent required. 5 years of technology or business related experience required.
