The Enterprise Data Analytics team at ICW Group works to make sure the data being used is clean, accurate, and presentable for our internal clients. We are looking for a Business Intelligence Supervisor to help manage Enterprise Business Intelligence and be a part of the growth and success of ICW Group. PURPOSE OF THE JOB

The purpose of this position is to supervise the team that provides research, analysis and solutions to business needs that result in the creation of new intelligence insight products to support the growth and profitability goals of the Company.

ABOUT YOUR JOB:

Creates report and data warehousing processes and implements governance models for Business Intelligence systems and data

  • Works with Data Architect, Business Analysts, Data Integration Engineers, and ICW Information Engineers to build/enhance system documentation, process flows, test plans and other ICW data asset documentation.
  • Manages the version control of SQL code or stored procedures or workflows (Alteryx) used in reporting to improve performance, durability, scalability, and maintainability.
  • Assures consistency in report development approach with standardized tools, templates, methodologies, policies and procedures.
  • Creates testing scenarios that validate the presentation as well as data in reports to ensure accuracy and quality.

Uses reporting tools, applications, and/or queries to create and configure new reports and dashboards

  • Converts, creates, formats and implements a variety of Business Objects webi, Crystal, Excel, & PowerBI reports and dashboards.
  • Creates reports and appropriate scheduling which integrate data from multiple sources to aid decision making.
  • Develops metrics associated with various financial, business management, dashboard and other reports for review by senior/executive management.

Provides consultation and solutions for complex data solution projects

  • Gathers and documents report requirements and captures complex report specifications to meet business needs.
  • Plans and communicates business timeline needs, managing expectations and scope when necessary.
  • Troubleshoots and resolves issues with reporting processes and data inconsistencies, working with system teams to improve data quality and provide temporary workarounds to meet business timelines.
  • Provides training and technical support to power users and solution consumers.
  • Understands and communicates to peers and business stakeholders the information content contained in the data repositories as well as the data definitions and values.

Develops and leads a team of Business Intelligence professionals

  • Provides daily direction to Business Intelligence team. Communicates Mission, Values and other organization operating principles to direct and indirect reports.
  • Establishes and maintains the overall work cadence and, in partnership with Manager, ensures performance and outcomes strive for excellence in delivery and customer experience. Ensures that the entire Business Intelligence team is engaged and conducts development and that ensure retention.
  • Hires, on boards and trains incoming staff.
  • Performs performance management duties, development planning and coaching for direct reports.
  • Acts as a resource for Business Intelligence team members to answer questions and solve complex problems.
  • Supervises assigned Business Intelligence budget, technology and other resources, workload and customer requests for Business Intelligence services. Ensures adherence to all Company policies and procedures and Compliance responsibilities.
  • Ensures data quality, adherence to IT security guidelines, profitability and other risk-related metrics for self and members of the team.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Directly supervised Business Intelligence Analysts and Specialists.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Data Analytics or other data related discipline and 7+ years related technical experience and/or training. Equivalent combination of education and work experience may be considered. Minimum 5 years of experience designing, developing and testing new and existing reports, ability to track work independently and be able to coordinate work efforts and deliverables. High degree of understanding of data management/data concepts and principles. Familiarity with Insurance industry a plus. Experience with reporting tools such as Business Objects, Crystal, FOCUS, Alteryx, PowerBI, Tableau, Cognos or similar tools required.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

Ability to communicate effectively in verbal as well as written form. Must communicate problem solutions clearly and professionally to a business audience in a way business users can understand (e.g., avoiding acronyms and technical terms); have good customer presence and support; and prompt professional follow-through. Must maintain a positive, cooperative working relationship with other team members and customers through professional communication and prompt follow-up to requests. Must be able to articulate technical solutions to the Enterprise Data Analytics team and Director/Manager clearly and concisely.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit. The employee is regularly required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk and hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision. The worker is required to have visual acuity and be capable of operating and viewing computers and other electronic devices for extended periods of time.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The noise level is usually quiet in the work area with moderate noise in the computer room. Occasional travel may be required.
