Job Description
The role of the Manager Data Solutions is to lead a team within the IT department that consists of application developers, business analysts and system administrators. At this level, the manager supports the strategic direction for their organization in support of the business objectives of the company, ensuring the structures and processes needed to effectively deliver the mission of their organization are in place. They are accountable for supporting organizational change, aligning to the strategic direction, delivering business results, and maintaining service level agreements.

Technology & Platform Management
- Accountable for overseeing the team that manages the platform to support all interactive 3rd party data acquisition for the company
- Working with our customers, including application architects to ensure the highest standard of service.
- Maintaining strategic external partnerships to ensure Allstate’s alignment to best practices and future technical capabilities.
- This role is both a delivery and leadership position and will have accountability for multiple activities, such as employee hiring, development, performance management, recognition and succession planning
People Management
- Accountable for creation of environment of safety and innovation within their organization. Acts as a role model for inclusive behaviors across all levels of employees.
- Models and creates an environment of accountability through key performance indicators.
- Collects multiple levels of staff performance data against desired outcomes and service level agreements ensuring that strategic outcomes at the broader organizational level are achieved and service levels met.

- Coaches team members on personal development.
- Champions change in alignment with enterprise change initiatives. Uses personal influence to enlist employees and peers in implementing change.
General Management & Decision Making
- Implements external data organization strategy including high level planning of work and resources.
- Provides oversight of budgets and delivery yet allow employees freedom of action.
- Applies knowledge and efforts to diverse and complex situations, where alternatives are numerous, to drive business solutions on behalf of the organization. Makes decisions that have an impact on quality or effectiveness of business activities beyond their area of responsibility.
- Fosters innovation. Creates structures and processes that promote an environment of innovation and experimentation for direct reports, peer groups, leaders and the organization.
- Highly proficient in the business of information technology with a demonstrated understanding of technology strategy and emerging trends in the industry.
Business Partner Management
- Leverages external industry relationships to improve the Enterprise.
- Influences individual contributors, managers, partners, service providers, and peers to successfully deliver on business commitments spanning multiple organizations and levels of complexity.
- Leads the process of setting and managing expectations for the team; continually seeks opportunities to be a thought partner and increase internal and external business partner satisfaction and deepen relationships.
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
- 5+ years of management experience; should include accountability for all aspects of leading an organization including people processes, client/partner relationships, work processes and delivery of work products.
- Familiarity with various data integration patterns.
- Familiarity acquiring external data from various 3rd parties.
- Familiarity with technologies like TIBCO BW\BE, Hadoop, Spark, and Kafka.
- Familiarity with one or more public clouds (AWS or Azure).
- Ability to drive an agile transformation in the external data space.
- Ability to drive automation throughout the team.
