We are currently searching for a Statutory Accountant, who is interested in working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. This position is based out of our Home Office in Wilkes-Barre, PA.

• Calculate premium taxes, assessments and other fees based on the regulatory requirements of each state.
• Prepare annual premium tax statements for designated states.
• Generate monthly and quarterly general ledger entries.
• Prepare account reconciliations and analysis.
• Perform detail analysis as required for fluctuations in quarterly results.
• Participate in the preparation of annual data calls as requested.
• Participate in the quarterly generation of Statutory Financial Statements.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance or 3+ years accounting experience, preferably in the Insurance Industry, with a strong knowledge of coverages.
• Advanced computer skills on MS Office and accounting software.
• Ability to manipulate large amounts of data.
• Ability to work independently and manage short and long-term projects.
• Proven knowledge of accounting principles, practices, standards, laws and regulations.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• Knowledge of the Oracle Fusion General Ledger is a plus.
