Job Details
The Associate Business Analyst assists in analyzing requirements and requests of the business, operations, and other uses of IT services; Serves as the contact for the business divisions and technology solution providers for all aspects of solution identification. The associate business analyst supports projects of low to moderate complexity.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide expertise in a focused area of the business through analysis and understanding of business needs. Apply a fundamental knowledge of a business areas processes and practices
- Provide business knowledge and support to resolving technology issues in their focused area of the business
- Use appropriate tools and techniques to elicit and define requirements that address relatively simple business processes or projects of low to moderate complexity. Participate in information gathering sessions
- Analyze requirements and create or contribute to functional designs, leveraging basic technical skills
- May assist with project initiation or planning for projects of low to moderate complexity
- Consult on the functional test plans and conditions for assigned applications / for projects of low complexity. Ensure that the test plans cover the testing of all defined functional requirements. Support data analysis and validation from functional tests
- Follow the change control process to manage changes to base lined deliverables and scope for projects of low to moderate complexity
Basic Qualifications:
- 2 years insurance business experience
Other Knowledge:
- Experience with standard Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Project, Visio) or equivalent
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks with accuracy and strong attention to detail
- Proven success with meeting quality and timeline standards
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to relate and build rapport with all levels of staff
- Adaptable, flexible, and comfortable working in a fast paced and frequently changing environment
- Proactively recognize process improvement opportunities
- Be able to work independently as well as in a team setting;
- Quick learner and be able to recognize processing errors and work with more senior team member or manager to resolve
Preferred Qualifications:
- Post-secondary degree or diploma
